Touring in person is a great way to get you and your books noticed.
You can also do this online with a blog tour.
It’s best to choose another author who writes in the same genre, or for the same age group, as you do.
This way you’ll ensure that your books will be of interest to the other blogs’ followers.
I’ve done this quite a few times, usually with books that are newly released, but you can run a blog tour at any time.
The most common blog tours involve running an interview that’s posted on the other author’s site.
You can then post an interview with them on your own blog.
This can be on the same day but isn’t always essential.
You may not be releasing a new book on the same day, for example, but swapping blog platforms like this usually works well.
You take advantage of each other’s readership and followers, each of you reaching an entirely new audience that you’d never have accessed on your own.
I’ve conducted interviews where I’ve composed both the questions and the answers but there have also been interviews for which the other author has sent me questions to answer.
Blog tours can be effective as marketing tools and just as there are benefits associated with varying your blog’s content, the appearance of fresh artwork and an intriguing interview with someone else helps to keep your blog content current.
