6. Jody and Kyle lived miles away from anyone and anything, yet someone had decided to leave a baby in a basket on their doorstep.

7. There must be dozens of ways to get over a bad breakup. But Mia couldn’t think of a single one of them now that Danny had dumped her.

8. Robin loved living in Florida in her cozy 55+ community because something interesting was always going on.

9. Stephen told Jake he would get even if it was the last thing he ever did. And he meant it.

10. A pink envelope on her desk was the first thing Debbie noticed when she got to her office Monday morning. She opened the envelope immediately. Inside was a cute card that said, “Thinking of you now and always…” But the card was unsigned.

11. One of the things Sharon enjoyed most about her condo was the giant fishpond in the lobby. But when she went downstairs to check her mail this morning, she noticed that all the fish in the pond were dead.

12. It was like Mama (and Doris Day) always said, “Que sera, sera…”
