Penelope Anne Cole

Penelope ColePenelope Anne Cole taught at every grade level before writing children’s books. In addition to writing, she tutors middle and elementary students, and reviews children’s books. A special joy for Ms. Cole is reading to children to encourage them to read on their own and love literature. Ms. Cole is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a member of the Fremont Area Writers Group of the California Writers Club, and is a Certified Phonographix Reading Therapist with Read America. She has a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Liberal Arts B.A., with an English Major, and an M.A. in Education. She lives in Santa Clara, California with her family and their rescued dogs and cats.

Ms. Cole’s Magical Matthew (Oct 2012), is the first book in her Magical series. The second is Magical Mea (May 2013). Mágico Mateo (Oct 2013) is the Spanish Version of Magical Matthew. Next in the series is Magical Mea Goes to School, with Magical M and M, to follow. Magical Matthew won a Bronze Medal from Readers’ Favorite (2013), a Book of the Year Award (2013) from Creative Child Magazine, and a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award from NABE (Summer 2013). Magical Mea won a Preferred Choice Award from Creative Child Magazine (2013), a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award from NABE (Fall 2013), and was a Readers’ Favorite Finalist (2013).
