3. Ashton stood staring in the shop window at what he knew was the perfect present for Meredith’s birthday. But which one should he choose?

4. Nick should have suspected something when he found the house was empty when he came home from work.

5. Sarah knew better. It was her wedding day after all. But she just couldn’t help herself.

6. Cindy looked up at the street sign in front of her. It felt like it was describing her life. Things weren’t supposed to turn out this way.

7. Kristen gazed out the kitchen window. A yellow truck with some strange red detailing sat in her driveway.

8. Jason was ill. Janet sat on the back porch, sobbing.

10. Karen checked the time on her phone again. She still couldn’t bring herself to open the email from David – Subject: Not Going to Happen.
